Marching Band

All High School Band students participate in Marching Band, which currently has 105 members.  This year the Cedar Springs High School Marching Band performed at State Finals in Detroit, where they placed 7th in the state in their flight.

Monday evening practices for Marching Band begin in July, and continue through State Finals in November.  Practices are held in the High School band room and football stadium from 6-9 p.m..  Band camp generally takes place the first week of August, with Pre-Camp occurring the week before.  See the Marching Band page for more information.

Concert Band

Cedar Springs High School concert bands consist of Wind Ensemble and Symphony Band.  All students tryout after marching season, to determine their concert band placement and determine their chair assignment.  Both bands perform in several concerts throughout the year, beginning with a holiday concert in December.

In 2011, both bands received Superior ratings at State Festival.  Wind Ensemble is directed by Mr. Adam Borst, and Symphony Band is under the direction of Mr. Ryan Shaw.  For more information, please visit the Concert Band page.

Jazz Band

Tryouts for the Cedar Springs High School Jazz Band take place in the fall.  The Jazz Band performs in several concerts during the school year, culminating in a spring Jazz Show.  They also perform an annual original Jazz Musical, which combines the elements of music and drama. The CSHS Jazz Band meets after school, but still receives high school credit.  They are under the direction of Mr. Robert Robuck.  For more information, visit the Jazz Band page.
