Welcome to the website of Cedar Springs Bands!

On this website, you can find information about the many bands of the Cedar Springs Public Schools, access band calendars, and stay up to date on upcoming concerts, trips, and fundraisers.

We are proud of our performing ensembles in Cedar Springs.  Our 6th graders begin instrumental study in sectional-specific classes, moving to a full-band environment during their 3rd trimester.  Our middle school bands perform 3 – 4 times per year and have a strong tradition of excellence at MSBOA District festivals.  Our 7th and 8th graders also have the option of performing with the Cedar Springs Middle School Jazz Band, and taking part in MSBOA District Solo and Ensemble Festival.

At the high school level, our students are active participants in several bands, including the award-winning Cedar Springs High School Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, Symphony Band, Jazz Band, and Percussion Ensemble.  Most recently, the CSHS Marching Band placed 7th in the state in the 2010 MCBA Flight III competition.  Our concert ensembles and jazz band have a long tradition of superior ratings at MSBOA District and State level competitions.  Our percussion ensemble has also shined recently, when they were asked to perform at the 2009 Michigan Youth Arts Festival.  Students also perform in the pit orchestra for school musicals, participate in regional honors bands, attend international tours, achieve superior ratings at MSBOA District and State- level solo and ensemble festivals, and go on to major in music and perform at the collegiate level.

We invite you to visit our Music Booster page and get involved with our extensive fund-raising and support efforts.  Funds raised by the boosters go toward the purchase of new instruments, uniforms, supplies, and student scholarships.  The Cedar Springs Music Boosters one Monday evening each month at the high school.  Please consider getting involved with this important organization.

Thanks,
Ryan
